Is there any one out there that knows of a way to change the radio frequencies in FSX using the numpad. Eiter via 3d party software or macros.?

Do you have a registered copy of FSUIPC? I can try to do a LUA script for the default radios.

Avi8
This guy did something similar with the GPS using an external keypad so the radio should be similar.
FSUIPC4 you will probably need the payware version to utilise the LUA script.

Yes, Lua needs a registered copy of FSUIPC4 and you need to pay for that.
Peter, I guess you're talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbnbQPgD2K8
but I take it the OP wants the numpad for the radios to work typing the frequency in COM2/NAV2 using the numkeys and then using a key to swap frequencies with COM1 or NAV1.

Dazz

Thanks for providing the link - I had a luap moment AND FORGOT IT!Big smile

Yes. you are correct, I had assumed that the number keys would be used as numbers and the 7 or so 'spare keys' to change to COM1/2 or NAV1/2 something like NAV1 (2)_RADIO_SWAP and so on or NAV1 (2) RADIO_SET with two of the spare keys (or similar).  Doing it that way will be ideal for a lua script.

Thanks again much appreciated.

Thanks for responding to my post gentlmen.

What i want to do is select either COM 1&2, NAV 1&2 and adf frequencies via assigned keys and then change the frequencies via the numpad without having to click on the screen to change it.

So for example I want to assign lets say F1 as the comm 1 stack then change the frequency with the numpad and then use another such as down arrow or whatever as the standby button.

I would also like to input transponder codes this way.

But I guess you already know what I want without me trying to explain :-)

Finished. I just need to write a little guide for the installation and how it works before I upload it. Would be cool if you could test it and let me know if you find any bugs or something.

Dazz.

Thank you very much for the effort. Teted it out and it works beautifully. Only problem I now have is that now matter which button I assign as the stby button nothing happens in game and the frequencies i chose do not change via a key press.

Think this has something to do with my keyboard though

I sent you a PM.

Just added checks for invalid frequencies, try this one:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19353176/numpadRadios_V1.1.zip

No need to configure the keys in FSUIPC again, just unzip that into your Modules folder and overwrite the old lua scripts

EDIT: new version:

Dazz. Fantastic work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did and outstanding job and I will be using your scripts as part of my FSX experience. NO more fiddling around with the mouse trying to figure out where the mouse overs on the radio panels are to change the com, radio, adf or squawk frequencies.

I just select what I want with the keys I assigned, enter the value, hit the key I selected to change the frequency and its done.

Since I use FSX to practice my real life flying procedures it helps tremendously in changing frequencies fast and accurate.

Thanks again. I can highly recommend this to any one who want a hassle free sim experience.

GREAT JOB

Just downloaded the .lua files and placed in the FSX Modules folder with registered FSUIPC.dll's

When I go to key presses and set the key for one of the functions, I do not see any of the lua files in the Control Sent....... when using the scroll down arrow. None of them are there.

I am using Version 1.2

Any ideas?

Is your FSUIPC4 up to date? you need version 4.60 or later.

Also, here's the last version of the plugin, including a global enable/disable function:
